The puppies are now over eight weeks and are with their new families except for the girl on the right who stayed with me. The "U" Litter blog is now over. Thanks to all of you who followed it.

The puppies have reached the six week mark and entertain me with their antics. They received their first shots and were wormed again. Their new owners have visited a number of times and are bonding with their puppy. It is amazing how fast the time goes. Soon these cuties will be going to their forever homes and Taylor will be heaving a big sigh of relief!

This is girl #2 who is my Callie. She thinks it is way too hot out!
This is girl number 3 who now has a name. She is Greenway's Up To No Good and will be called Darla after the girl in the Little Rascals. She weighs in at over 13 pounds.
Here is Rocco. In six weeks he has gone from 10 ounces to 10 pounds. He does a fine job of keeping up with his big sisters.

The puppies are now 5 weeks old and full of personality. They are also very good escape artists. The whelping box is down and the x-pen is up. They had a number of breeders visit them this weekend and we had fun evaluating them. Happily everyone agreed with my pick of Girl #2. Girl #3 is also going to a show home. Girl #1 is going to have fun with her family with 3 children and boy #1 is going to be loved beyond measure in a family who recently lost their berner.
Here is Greenway's Urban Legend known as Rocco. He is over 7 pounds and just wants to be loved.

This is girl # 2 who will be staying here. She is the smallest of the girls at 81/2 pounds. I love the way she cocks her head. Her name is Greenway's Up To Par and will be known as Callie for Calloway golf clubs.
This is girl # 1 who is the biggest of all at 10 pounds.
This is girl # 3 who is a hefty 9 pounds. Hopefully, her family will make a final decision on her name soon.

The puppies are now 4 weeks old and are complete time wasters. They play with each other and with toys. They have been outside and find that very exciting. Taylor tolerates them for brief periods as she is not very fond of their teeth. I am fairly sure which one I am going to keep but will obsess about the decision for 2 more weeks.

This is girl number 1. She is the biggest of them all at 9 pounds.

This is girl number 2 who is just about 8 pounds. She is a sweetheart who loves to cuddle.

This is girl number 3 who weighs in at 8 pounds.
This is the little man who is a hefty six pounds. He has a new name,Greenway's Urban Legend, and will be known as Rocco.

The puppies have turned 3 weeks and are playing with each other and walking all over the place. They had their first worming today and their first taste of "gruel" which they took to with gusto. Clara's favorite continues to be Girl # 1 who is now 5 lbs. 14 oz. the other two girls are 5 lbs. 8 oz and 5 lbs. 4 oz. The little man is up to 4 lbs and is holding his own against his big sisters. For those who are interested the necropsy on boy #2 showed multiple intestinal problems and a lung tumor. Enjoy this week's pictures!
GIRL # 3.

Girl #2.

Girl # 1 who eats so much that Clara calls her Piglet.

The little man who is growing up nicely.

Almost impossible to have all 4 still at the same time!!

The puppies turned two weeks old yesterday. They all opened their eyes at 10 days and everyone has nice brown eyes. Sadly, we lost boy puppy #2 on Friday. He continued to fail and began losing weight. Though he ate, he just could not absorb the food. I am awaiting the results of the necropsy. On a more upbeat note the rest of the puppies are thriving. The girls are over 4 pounds and little guy is 3 pounds. They are moving all over the whelping box. Taylor continues to take good care of them in her laid back fashion.

This is girl number 1. She is Clara's favorite!

This is girl number 2. She is very cozy with Clara.
This is girl number 3. As you can see she has one foot without much white; just like her momma.
This is boy number 1. He is now just about 3 pounds and is a cutie.

The puppies are now one week old and doing well. The girls are little piglets and are all well over two pounds. The little guy is over a pound. The second boy is not gaining as well as the others. I will take him to the vet tomorrow to see what's going on with him. Taylor is a good mom but not a doting mom.
This is boy #2. He is gaining weight but not as fast the others.

This is boy #1. The little peanut who is now over a pound.

This is girl # 3

This is girl #2. I clearly neeed to cut her nails!

Five contented puppies at one day old!
On Sunday May 16th, Taylor free whelped 6 beautiful puppies. The sixth puppy was stillborn so she is the proud mother of 3 girls and 2 boys. One boy only weighed 10 ounces but is a feisty guy and so far is holding his own. The other puppies ranged from 1 lb 2 oz to 1 lb 6 oz. They are all well marked. I am very pleased with this litter!
